A man driving a motorcycle died after a recent collision. The 51-year-old victim, D.C., was riding his motorcycle east on Horseblock Road at around 10:23 at night when the crash happened. D.C. was unable to avoid running into the driver's side of a sedan that started making a left turn in front of him. He crashed into the vehicle and was thrown from his motorcycle. Suffolk County police and emergency medical services arrived and found D.C. on the ground and in critical condition. He was transported by ambulance to the Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center but had suffered severe life threatening injuries and did not survive. He was pronounced at the hospital. The 73-year-old driver of the sedan was not injured and remained at the scene after the incident. Accident investigators have impounded the motorcycle and the sedan involved as they continue to look into the exact cause of the crash. If the driver of the car is found to be at fault in the accident then he may be liable for compensation to the surviving family of the victim. Discuss your case with a personal injury attorney as soon as possible if you lost a loved one in an accident that was caused by someone else's negligence.
Did an accident result in the death of your spouse, child or parent?
The loss of a spouse or family member in an accident can be devastating. The grief of the loss can be overwhelming but there are many other things that may have to be dealt with which can make circumstances even more emotionally stressful and difficult. There may be extensive medical bills, funeral arrangements and other costs. If the deceased died as a result of a motor vehicle accident, drunk driver, construction site accident, assault, pedestrian accident, nursing home abuse, premises liability, workplace accident or other accident that was due to someone else's recklessness or carelessness then that individual or party may be responsible for all financial and other damages.
