A Stockton teen has been arrested on charges of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter after her vehicle struck a group of pedestrians. M.A., 19 years old, is accused of causing the death a 14-year-old male and the injury of three other teens. M.A. was reportedly traveling west on Yosemite Road near the intersection with Comconex Road late at night when the tragic accident happened. At about 1:15am she apparently came up on the group of teens who were walking along the right-hand side of the road. She looked away from the road for a moment to try to locate her cell phone and didn't notice that her car, a late model sedan, had started to drift toward the right shoulder. Her car went into the group of teens, hitting all four. She remained at the scene and emergency services soon arrived. All four teens, ages 14 through 16 including three boys and a girl, were rushed to area hospitals. The 14-year-old boy had suffered severe injuries and died at the hospital. The exact condition of the other three teens was not given. M.A. was not injured in the incident and was arrested by officers who reported that neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected of being a factor. She was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond. Did you lose a family member in a pedestrian accident caused by another's negligence?
