Suffolk County police are investigating a recent two-car injury accident that happened on the Long Island Expressway. An unnamed male driver and a female passenger were in a two door sedan traveling east near Exit 66 around 1:00 in the afternoon when the driver rear ended a vehicle in front of him. The driver of the sedan struck a midsize SUV and then lost control of the car resulting in it veering off the expressway into a wooded area. The sedan then struck a large tree at a fairly highly rate of speed. The occupants of the SUV were not injured but the two individuals in the sedan received serious injuries. Emergency services arrived at the accident scene and a medical helicopter was called in. The helicopter transported the two injured people to a local hospital for treatment. Their current condition was not reported. Investigators are working to determine why the driver of the sedan rear ended the SUV and lost control. Were you hurt in a car crash that was not your fault?
